Assombalonga joins Peterbrough.
Academy Graduate Britt Assombalonga joined Peterbrough United on a 4 year deal for an Undisclosed fee on Wednesday. The fee iis not yet known but Peterbrough owner Darragh Macantony confirmed that the club smashed their transfer record to sign the young striker. The previous transfer record was £1.1 million so the Hornets will be glad to recieve quite a bit of money for him. Also, the hornets have first option if Peterbrough decide to sell him. Since turning pro in 2011 Assombalonga made 4 appearances for the Golden Boys all of which came towards the end of the 2011/12 season. He made his debut against Coventry and was the 50th Academy graduate to play for the Hornets. For the majority of the past two season, he has been loaned out. In the 2011/12 season he spent prolific spells on loan at Wealdstone and Braintree. Last season, he spent the whole season on loan at League 2 side Southend scoring 15 goals. Good luck Britt
