Dyer Joins Birmingham On Loan

Winger Lloyd Dyer has joined fellow Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 32 year old winger joined the Hornets in the summer on a three-year-deal from Leicester City, and has made 16 appearances for the Hornets to date scoring 3 times.

However, he has failed to establish himself in the Hornets 3-5-2 formation which has been deployed under Beppe Sannino and Slavisa Jokanovic, with 10 of his 16 appearances coming from the bench.

His attitude at Watford has been questioned by fans, having appeared to shout abuse at former coach Beppe Sannino after opening the scoring at Rotherham in August and for having at moan at Slavisa Jokanovic after the Hornets 5-0 victory over Fulham in front of the Sky cameras, for not being subbed on.

Dyer’s last appearance for the Golden Boys came against Reading, and the Watford Observer recently reported that Dyer and three other players were training away from the Hornets squad at London Colney, as they were seen as Surplus to requirements and were being allowed to leave either on loan or permanently.

Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers have had rumoured interest in Dyer, but the 32 year old has decided to return to the Midlands on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Dyer has not been impressive when I have seen him at Vicarage Road this season, and his attitude has been far from brilliant. Its fair to say the Watford fans will be glad to see the back of the former Leicester Winger even if it is for the rest of the season, and it looks likely that the 32 year old will be allowed to leave permanently in the summer.
