19/08/2016 07:15

The referee for Watford's first home game of the Premier League season against Chelsea has been announced.

The match, which will see Walter Mazzarri and Antonio Conte face off at Vicarage Road, will be refereed by Jon Moss from West Yorkshire.

Moss refereed the Hornets once last season which came back in March, when Leicester City beat the Golden Boys 1-0 at Vicarage Road. Riyad Mahrez scored the winner for the Foxes that day and Moss handed out 4 yellow cards.

The West Yorkshire official is a relatively experienced Premier League referee, having taken charge of matches in the top flight since 2011.

Last season, Moss took charge of 33 matches in all competitions and he dished out 97 yellow cards and 7 red.
