Referee for Burnley game announced

21/09/2016 11:02

The referee for Monday night's televised match between Watford and Burnley has been announced by the Premier League.

The fixture, which will take place at 8pm at Turf Moor in front of the Sky Sports cameras, will be refereed by Mike Jones from Chester.

Jones took charge of three matches involving the Hornets last season, with the Golden Boys taking one point from these games.

The Chester based official was the man-in-the-middle for Watford's draw with Everton on the opening day of the 2015/16 Premier League season, while he also took charge of the Hornets' defeats to Arsenal and Manchester United in October and March respectively.

Jones is a relatively experienced top-flight referee, having taken charge of matches in the Premier League since 2008.

He has refereed 4 matches in all competitions this season, two of which being in the Premier League, and he has handed out 16 yellow cards and 2 red.
