Referee for Leicester City match confirmed

15/11/2016 09:17

The referee for this weekend's Premier League fixture between Watford and Leicester City has been announced.

The match, which will be Watford's first at Vicarage Road for three weeks, will be refereed by Neil Swarbrick from Lancashire.

Swarbrick refereed the Hornets once last season, which came in the Golden Boy's 1-0 away victory over Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Lancashire officials last visit to Vicarage Road came almost two years ago, when he took charge of Watford's 4-2 victory over Huddersfield in August 2014, a match which proved to be Beppe Sannino's last as head coach. On that day, Swarbrick sent off the Hornets' Gabriel Tamas for two bookable offences.

Swarbrick is a relatively experienced top-flight referee having officiated matches in the Premier League for the last five years.

This season, the Lancashire official has taken charge of 11 matches in all competitions, six of which coming in the Premier League, and he has handed out 44 yellow cards and one red.
