The referee for this weekend's Premier League fixture against Newcastle United at Vicarage Road, has been announced.

Andre Marriner from the West Midlands is set to be the man-in-the-middle and this will be his third Watford match of the season.

Previously this season Marriner has taken charge of the Hornets' game against Southampton at the Vic in August and the Golden Boys' trip to Chelsea on Boxing Day.

Both games have ended in draws, but he did award both Watford and Chelsea spot kicks during the match at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

The West Midlands referee is an experienced official, having taken charge of over 200 top-flight fixtures since he was promoted to the select group list of referees who officiate in the Premier League back in 2005.

Marriner has refereed 18 matches in all competitions this season and has brandished 67 yellow cards and 4 red.
