Referee for Southampton game confirmed

06/09/2017 10:08

The referee for this weekend's away fixture against Southampton has been confirmed by the Premier League.

Lee Probert from Wiltshire will be the man-in-the-middle at the St Mary's Stadium on Saturday and this will be his second Premier League match of the campaign.

Probert refereed the Hornets once last season, which came in the 1-0 win over Sunderland at Vicarage Road in April.

The Wiltshire official is well known among the Watford fanbase, given that he was the referee who sent off Gabriele Angella inside a minute against Bournemouth in January 2015.

Probert has refereed three matches in all competitions this season, one of which coming in the Premier League, handing out one yellow card and two red.
