Referees for Blackburn and Brentford matches confirmed by The Football League
The referees for the Hornets next two Sky Bet Championship matches against Blackburn Rovers and Brentford have been confirmed by The Football League.
For this weekend’s game at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers, the referee will be Lincolnshire official Darren Drysdale. Drysdale refereed the Golden Boys twice last season which came in Watford’s 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers in September 2013 and the Hornets 2-0 victory over Bristol City in the FA Cup third round replay. Both matches were at Vicarage Road. Last season, the Lincolnshire official refereed 34 matches across The Football League, handing out 106 yellow cards and 8 red. This season, Drysdale has officiated 7 games and has given out 16 yellow cards and 1 red.
For next Tuesday’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Brentford at Vicarage Road, the referee will be Lancashire official Graham Salisbury. Salisbury is an experienced Football League referee and officiated the Hornets once last season, which came in the Golden Boys 3-0 victory over Barnsley at Vicarage Road in March. Last season, he refereed 30 matches across The Football League, handing out 84 yellow cards and 2 red. However, this season, Salisbury has officiated eight games across The Football League and has given out 30 yellow cards and 2 red.
