Referees for next two matches confirmed.
The referees for the next two sky bet championshop matches against Leicester and Birmingham have been announced. For this weekends match away to Leicester City which will be the feature game on the football league show, the referee will be premier league official Martin Atkinson. Atkinson last refereed the Hornets back in May when he officiated the Play Off Final between the Hornets and Crystal Palace awarding the penalty which condemned the Hornets to Championship football again this season. The 42 year old premier league official has refereed 25 matches this season (17 of which in the Premier League) and has handed out 79 yellow cards and 3 red as well as 9 penalties. This will be his first match in the Championship this season.
For Tuesday nights Sky Bet Championshop match at Home to Birmingham, the referee will be West Yorkshire official Mark Haywood. Haywood refereed the Hornets twice last seasong during the 2-1 defeat to Hull City in December and the 2-1 win over Derby County in Febuary both of which being at Vicarage Road. Haywood awarded a dubious penalty during the match against Derby with defender Richard Keogh going down despite their being little or no contact. Haywood has refereed 23 games this season ( 3 of which in the Championship) and has handed out 53 yellow cards and 5 red cards as well as 7 penalties. For the full appointments please see below:
