Referees for Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest matches announced.
The referees for this weekends Sky Bet Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday and next Tuesday's game against Nottingham Forest have been announced by The Football League.
For this weekends match against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsbrough, the referee will be Lancashire official Jeremy Simpson. This will be the first time that he has refereed the Hornets since joining The Football League list before the start of the 2012/13 season. Simpson officiated 33 matches across The Football League last season, handing out 90 yellow cards and 5 red. This season, Simpson has refereed 10 matches ( 1 of which in the Championship) and has handed out 39 yellow cards and 3 red.
For next Tuesday's match against automatic promotion rivals Nottingham Forest at Vicarage Road, the referee will be Northamptonshire official Dean Whitestone. He last took charge of the Hornets way back in the 2011/12 season, when he officiated the Golden Boys 0-4 home defeat to West Ham. Whitestone officiated 34 games last season across The Football League, handing out 84 yellow cards and 4 red. This season, he has refereed 9 matches handing out 20 yellow cards.
