Watford V Barnsley Match Preview.

01/12/2012 11:55

Watford take on Barnsley at Vicarage Road today and are hoping to extend their unbeaten run to 7 games. After an unbeaten November and coming off a 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday, this looks the perfect match for the Golden Boys to gain a good win and hopefully get into the play off positions at the end of the day. The Hornets have a good home record against Barnsley. The two matches finished 1-1 at Oakwell and a 2-1 win for Watford at Vicarage Road. Watford drew 1-1 with Barnsley in September 2011 with Marvin Sordell scoring Watfords goal. In February 2012, Watford won 2-1 thanks to a double from Captain John Eustace. One of Eustace goals was an overhead kick. Barnsley are struggling at the moment down in 20th position and Keith Hill added Emile Sinclair, Marcus Tudgay, Jonathan Greening and Akos Buzsaky on loan during the final few days in the loan window. Craig Davies will be their main threat after scoring 9 goals for the club this season.

Team News

For Watford, Gianfranco Zola has no new injury concerns going in to the home game. John Eustace, Nyron Nosworhty, Lloyd Doyley, Jonathan Bond and Ikechi Anya are all out of the match. Almen Abdi, Prince Buaben and Neuton are all back in training but the game could come too soon for them.

For Barnsley, manager Keith Hill looks set to name an unchanged sqaud to the side that drew 1-1 with Burnley in midweek. Akos Buszaky looks set to feature after a back injury forced him off against Burnley. David Perkins and Mido are still out.
