Watford play Rotherham United tonight in the Sky Bet Championship, with the Hornets looking to recover from Saturday’s disappointing 0-3 home defeat to Norwich City.

Watford come into the game in 6th position in the table, and a win tonight could see them potentially move up to 4th position if results go there way. Whereas, Rotherham come into the match on the back of a disappointing 5-0 away defeat to Wolves on Saturday, and currently sit in 21st position in the table.

During the match earlier this season at the New York Stadium, Watford ran out 0-2 winners thanks to goals from Lloyd Dyer and Gianni Munari. However, the match will be remembered for all the wrong reasons, as Lloyd Dyer ran over to Beppe Sannino after scoring his goal, and appeared to fire several insults at the Italian manager. It was that which brought the disharmony among the Watford squad into the limelight, and two weeks later Sannino had left his post as Head Coach at Vicarage Road.

Steve Evans is the manager of the Millers, and the former Crawley manager has done a fantastic job at the New York Stadium. He has overseen promotion to League 1, and last season, he guided the Millers to a victory in the Play Off Final which sealed their promotion to the Championship.

This season has been a tough test for the Millers, however that they are a capable Championship team, holding leaders Derby County to a 3-3 draw at the New York Stadium last week.

The key player for the Millers tonight will be winger Adam Hammill. The former Liverpool man has proved himself to be a more than capable player in this division with the likes of Barnsley and Huddersfield, and Steve Evans will look to him to provide an opening for the Millers tonight.

Despite their low league position, Rotherham cannot be underestimated tonight, with them showing that they can mix it with the big teams in the division. The Hornets will be looking to make amends for Saturday’s disappointing defeat to Norwich, although they may have to bide their time tonight. 3 points are needed by the Hornets tonight if they want to put the teams above them under the cosh.

Team News.

For Watford, Sean Murray is the only player unavailable for Slavisa Jokanovic.

For Rotherham, Craig Morgan is set to replace Kirk Broadfoot, whilst Jack Hunt could be preferred to Frazer Richardson at the back.
