Jose Holebas joined Watford in July 2015 on a three-year deal from Italian side Roma. The Greek international started his career in Germany with Viktoria Kahl in the 6th division, before joining 1860 Munchen in 2006. After initially featuring for the German side’s second string, Holebas made his first team debut in September 2007 and went onto make 74 appearances, scoring seven goals, before moving to Greek side Olympiakos in August 2011. His impressive performances persuaded Roma to purchase him in August 2014 and Holebas' one and only season in Italy was to be a success, as he kept former England international Ashley Cole out of the side and made 34 appearances for the Italian side, scoring once. Watford purchased Holebas in July 2015, with the full-back signing a three-year deal at Vicarage Road. Number 29 - Etienne Capoue.

Etienne Capoue joined Watford in July 2015 for a club record fee from Tottenham Hotspur, with the midfielder signing a four-year contract. The French midfielder started his career in his home land with Toulouse, remaining with the club until August 2013. He was to make 196 appearances, scoring 13 goals for Toulouse and his impressive form didn’t go unnoticed, as he made his international debut for France in August 2012. Capoue’s impressive form saw him quickly established as one of the hottest prospects in French football and Tottenham Hotspur fought off significant interest from other club’s to sign him in August 2013, for a fee believed to be in the region of £9 million. However, Capoue was to have a tough time at White Hart Lane, as he never got the chance to showcase his full potential. He subsequently fell out of favour with manager Mauricio Pochettino during his second season with the club and was allowed to leave at the end of the 2014/15 season, after making 36 appearances for the North London side, scoring twice. Watford acted quickly to snap the French midfielder up in July 2015, with Capoue signing a four-year contract with the Hornets. The midfielder made his Watford debut on the opening day of the 2015/16 season, playing the full 90 minutes of the Hornets' 2-2 draw with Everton. He went on to make 36 appearances for the Hornets during the 2015/16 season. He went on to represent the Citizens a further 25 times in the following two seasons and he was part of the squad which won the Premier League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup under Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellergrini. Pantilimon left City and moved to Sunderland in August 2014 to secure more first team action. He moved to Watford on the 19th January 2016 and made his debut for the Hornets during the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
