Striker Alex Jakubiak signed a two-year-professional contact with Watford at the end of the 2013/14 season, after impressing the club over the course of his two-year scholarship with the Under 18’s. Jakubiak was in fantastic form for the Under 18 side, and was top scorer for the youth team during the 2013/14 season. He had a spell on loan at Braintree Town during the 2013/14 season, where he made 11 appearances and scored once and he featured on the substitute bench on a couple of occasions for the Hornets towards the end of the 2013/14 season, before making his debut on the final day, when he started the 1-4 home defeat to Huddersfield. Jakubiak was to spend the 2014/15 season away from Vicarage Road, conducting loan spells at League 2 side's Oxford United and Dagenham and Redbridge. The young striker was to score 1 goal in 10 appearances for Oxford, before netting 4 goals in 23 appearances for Dagenham and Redbridge over the course of the second half of the 2014/15 season. Jakubiak put pen-to-paper on a new four-year-contract at Watford in the summer of 2016, before spending the rest of the 16/17 season on loan at Fleetwood Town in League 1.
